The company prides itself on owning its supply chain, manufacturing and distributing bakery and food-on-the-go products to its 2,229+ shops around the UK. Our role includes managing, servicing and maintaining Gregg’s estate-wide network of fire alarm systems and extinguishers onsite. Both facilities operate around the clock and we work closely with Greggs’ estates team to ensure work is planned and delivered to schedule with no disruption to their production processes. Greggs are pleased with our engineers’ performance, with their multi-skilled knowledge, experience and organisational training ensuring a high first-time fix rate and high quality work.

We worked closely with YMD Boon to install Honeywell Gent fire alarm systems at 15 schools around Leicester and Nottingham

YMD Boon is an award-winning team of architects, building surveyors and health and safety professionals, based in Market Harborough, Nottingham and Lincoln. As well as constructing buildings, the company also provides building users with health and safety support and property management services, to keep them safe and compliant. We worked closely with YMD Boon to install Honeywell Gent fire alarm systems at 15 schools around Leicester and Nottingham, and now manage, service and maintain those systems as part of a planned programme of preventative maintenance. We manage, service and maintain the estate-wide fire alarm system at the centre

Southwark Household Reuse and Recycling Centre is a state of the art facility off Old Kent Road in London managed by Veolia. Local residents can recycle many of their unwanted household and garden items at the centre for free. We work in partnership with Veolia to manage, service and maintain the estate-wide fire alarm system at the centre. Our expert engineers are specially trained to work in busy commercial environments like this, which are also open to the public. We ensure our people are fully prepared before working on site, and are closely supported by our management team. Through expert planning and organisation, we successfully deliver all the requirements of this contract, completing all works on time and on budget.

Multiple networked Honeywell Gent Vigilon fire alarm and detection system

Bladon Micro Turbine (formerly Bladon Jets) designs, develops and manufactures micro turbine gensets (MTGs) for the telecommunications market – providing reliable power to mobile telecommunications towers in remote areas, or connected to unreliable electric networks. We designed, installed and commissioned Bladon’s multiple networked Honeywell Gent Vigilon fire alarm and detection system. The project included installing around 60 devices and managing the transition of the site from base build to fit out. We provided our dedicated team of engineers with in-depth onsite induction training and bespoke project management supervision, to help them complete the works in an occupied, high-tech, busy environment on time and on budget. Servicing and Maintenance at Greystar's Chapter King's Cross

Greystar’s Chapter Kings Cross provides student accommodation within easy reach of all London’s universities. We service, maintain and manage fire protection and life safety systems throughout the accommodation, after managing the installation project itself. Our post-installation programme of planned preventative maintenance is delivered across four quarterly visits by a dedicated team of engineers trained and experienced in the site’s Notifier by Honeywell systems, and working within occupied educational sites including vulnerable students, supported by our on call engineering team, available 24/7, 365 days a year.

Our dedicated service planners work closely with both Greystar’s onsite management teams and students, to coordinate and manage individual site visits and ensure customer service is of the very highest standard. As with all our contracts, we monitor our performance through agreed key performance indicators (KPIs) and are fully compliant – having delivered all works to schedule and budget. We also designed, installed and commissioned the upgrade of the building’s existing Notifier by Honeywell fire alarm system.

Bespoke fire alarm and detection solution for student accommodation

iQ Weaver Place comprises a range student accommodation close to the University of Coventry, alongside facilities and services such as a gym and onsite laundry. We designed and commissioned a bespoke fire alarm and detection solution for the site using a Honeywell Gent system and connected it to the building’s sprinkler systems. We installed a Baldwin Boxall disabled refuge system enabling two-way voice communication between a central control point and a number of other points throughout the building in the event of an emergency.

Working in partnership with Proctor and Gamble’s estates team to manage, service and maintain the multiple fire alarm systems onsite

We’ve worked with Proctor and Gamble at their factory in Grays, Essex for many years now and have developed a unique and expert knowledge of the site. The manufacturing facility produces a range of home, beauty, kitchen and bathroom products and requires a highly trained workforce to operate around its estate. Our role includes working in partnership with Proctor and Gamble’s estates team to manage, service and maintain the multiple fire alarm systems onsite. Helping the company to protect the safety of its staff and facilities, and achieve compliance with evolving regulations and legislation.

Bespoke fire alarm and detection system for an environmentally-friendly building

At 660,000 square feet, Biggleswade is the largest distribution centre in the Co-op’s logistics network. We designed and commissioned a bespoke fire alarm and detection system for the environmentally-friendly building, using a multiple networked Hochiki system, with alarm devices on the loop warning occupants in the event of a fire. Hochiki has been designing and manufacturing innovative life safety solutions for over 100 years, specialising in commercial and industrial fire detection so it was the ideal choice for the Co-op’s vast and complex distribution centre. We also designed and commissioned a building regulations-compliant refuge area – a safe area where people who can’t easily use fire escapes and evacuation lifts can call for assistance and wait safely until help arrives.

JG Pears is one of the UK’s leading processors of animal by-products and food waste. Collecting from across the UK, the company takes material that would otherwise require incineration or go into landfill, and turns it into sustainable, high quality products. JG Pears selected us to manage, service and maintain their estate-wide Notifier fire alarm system at their manufacturing facility in Low Marnham, Newark because of our extensive engineering knowledge and experience in complex industrial environments. We work closely with JG Pears in-house team to plan and deliver an agreed schedule of work, managing, servicing and maintaining Notifier equipment across the site. Our multi-skilled engineers are specially trained to work in challenging industrial settings like JG Pear’s bio-secure processing plant, enabling us to provide a high quality service tailored to their bespoke needs.

We manage, service and maintain fire alarm systems and emergency lighting

We have worked with Leicestershire Police for over a decade. Our role includes managing, servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems and emergency lighting at ten police stations around the county, and at Leicestershire Police’s headquarters in Enderby. To deliver this contract, our team is vetted to NPPV Level 2, to comply fully with Leicestershire Police’s requirements. Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) covers people who are working with the police, but aren’t police officers, and is more in-depth than a DBS check. Our specialist engineers are specially trained to work within a variety of police environments, including custody suites, firing ranges and office locations, and are given in-depth site inductions before starting work onsite.

Upgrade to a new EMS FireCell System at Leicester City Council's central offices

Leicester City Council’s central offices are in City Hall, a 1930’s Art Deco building restored to its former glory in 2014. We designed, installed and commissioned the upgrade of the building’s EMS 5000 radio fire alarm and detection system to the new EMS FireCell System. EMS is one of the UK’s leading developers and manufacturers of wireless and hybrid fire detection products. Leicester City Council’s flexible new radio fire alarm and detection solution comprises a two-panel, multi-networked system that uses the Taktis^®  Vision Network Repeater Panel. The Taktis^®  range of fire detection control panels include a user-friendly, customisable, colour touch screen display that can be repeated and displayed in multiple locations. Providing the Council with enhanced fire control and monitoring capabilities throughout their historic building.

We manage, service and maintain a range of fire protection and life safety systems for Howdens Joinery, at two of their purpose-built distribution centres near Raunds in Northamtonshire. The two new units, known as Units 2 and 3, were built to expand Howden’s existing onsite warehouse space. Our role includes managing, servicing and maintaining the sites’ estate-wide Honeywell Gent fire alarm system, disabled refuge, disabled toilets, fixed fire extinguishers and room integrity testing. Howdens use gas fire protection systems to protect their distribution centres in the event of a fire, as water could damage the vast range of joinery items stored there. We carry out annual room integrity testing as part of managing, servicing and maintaining Howden’s fire protection system, to make sure gas doesn’t leak out of the room when it’s needed to put out a fire. Our multi-skilled engineers are specially trained to work in high occupancy spaces including active warehouses and to carry out dynamic risk assessments when needed. Enabling us to provide Howdens with a cost-effective solution from a single source, tailored to meet the specific needs of their sites.

Highly specialised environment for medical research

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is home to a number of highly specialised environments for medical research, including the Anthony Nolan Cell Therapy Building. We service and maintain all fire alarm panels and devices in these buildings. As specialist medical research facilities, the buildings are sealed, sterile environments with strict access protocols and airlock sanitisation entrances. To ensure we comply fully with the sites’ requirements and protect the health and safety of our engineers, we provide our team with in-depth, onsite health and safety training covering full laboratory policies and procedures, including how to enter and exit areas protected by airlock sanitisation. We also work closely with NTU’s estates team to optimise our onsite visits and minimise risk. For example, by keeping strategic equipment stocks onsite in a secure location, including calibrated instruments that need 24 hours in a new environment to adjust to the conditions. Throughout our decades long relationship with NTU, we have shown our high level of ability in these critical environments, with full compliance and zero health and safety events.

Continuously developing the fire safety system to meet expanding capacity

We have worked with Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH) since it was built in 1984 and installed the original fire alarm and detection system for what was then a community hospital. Since then we have continuously developed the fire safety system to meet the expanding capacity of the site, with MKUH now a multi-site teaching hospital. As experts in hospital alarm integration we designed, installed, commissioned and maintain a global network of Gent systems for MKUH. To enhance the system’s control and monitoring capabilities even further, we also incorporated a Winmag visual graphics package as part of the project. Graphic monitoring provides an extra layer of protection, by giving the MKUH team detailed visual information to help them manage events such as an alarm. Design, installation and commission of a bespoke fire alarm and detection system

We designed, installed and commissioned a bespoke fire alarm and detection system at JD Sport’s 616,000 square feet distribution centre in Rochdale. The flexible system comprises a multiple networked Honeywell Gent Vigilon System connected to a WINMAG graphics package. WINMAG provides a graphical view of the entire system, enabling JD’s team to locate any issues fast. As part of the two-phase project, we also connected the system to mobile devices using Honeywell Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS), providing real-time visibility to JD Sports’ facilities managers wherever they are, on or offsite. The new Amazon distribution warehouse in Gateshead is 546,000 square feet in size, the equivalent of six and a half football pitches. We designed and commissioned a bespoke fire alarm and detection system for the large and complex building using a multiple networked Honeywell Gent Vigilon System with alarm devices on the loop warning occupants in the event of a fire. To provide the earliest possible warning of a potential fire, we used VESDA aspirating smoke detection (ASD) solutions, including over 40km of aspirating pipework. The ASD system continuously samples the air to protect the safety of the building’s occupants and minimise risk in a challenging environment. We also designed and commissioned a building regulations-compliant refuge area – a safe area where people who can’t easily use fire escapes and evacuation lifts can call for assistance and wait safely until help arrives.

Following a major refurbishment of the Students’ Union facilities at DMU, including a student bar, café and night club, we designed, installed and commissioned a multiple networked Honeywell Gent Vigilon System. The flexible new solution is ideal for The Campus Centre’s multiple spaces, including three large studios and large open hall. Multi-networked EMS FireCell Syncro radio fire alarm and detection system

Leicester’s Abbey Pumping Station was built in 1891 as a sewage pumping station. Today it’s a museum of science and technology with four working steam-powered beam engines and exhibits relating to transport, public health and civil engineering. We designed, installed and commissioned the upgrade of the Victorian building’s fire alarm system to a three-panel, multi-networked EMS FireCell Syncro radio fire alarm and detection system. EMS is one of the UK’s leading developers and manufacturers of wireless and hybrid fire detection products. Their FireCell Syncro solution includes a versatile range of fire control panels tailormade to provide robust fire control and monitoring throughout heritage buildings like Abbey Pumping Station.

Honeywell Gent multi-panel, fibre-networked Vigilon fire alarm system

We service, maintain and manage fire protection and life safety systems for the Royal School for the Deaf – a special school for children and young people aged 3 to 19 with Education and Health Care Plans for hearing impairment. We have worked closely with the school for many years so we have an in-depth understanding of their specialist needs and have designed, installed and commissioned several systems across the campus, including the school’s current Honeywell Gent multi-panel, fibre-networked Vigilon fire alarm system. To protect students and the significant investment the school has made, our post-installation maintenance contract includes a planned programme of preventative maintenance delivered over four quarterly visits, led by a dedicated engineer specifically trained in working in occupied educational environments with vulnerable students. To ensure all students are alerted in the event of a fire alarm, the system uses both visual and noise producing alarms. We also recommended changing the traditional alert noise to vocal instructions when a fire alarm is activated. This has been shown to be less startling for students with hearing impairments, enabling a calmer, more orderly fire drill.

A modular fire detection and alarm system specifically recommended for schools

Designed, installed and commissioned a modular fire detection and alarm system specifically recommended for schools, to safeguard the academy’s 1,600+ students and staff and achieve compliance. We configured a four panel, networked system comprising over 700 network points using Hochiki’s flexible Latitude system to ensure maximum protection across the premises. The bespoke system is both powerful and easy to use, giving the school complete control over fire detection while minimising the impact of false alarms. We installed and tested the bespoke system during the school holidays to keep disruption to a minimum. Rawlins Academy chose to work with us because of our in-depth experience across educational sites, including schools, colleges and universities.

Servicing, maintenance and upgrade over 60 different systems at University of Leicester

We service, maintain and upgrade a complex network of fire protection and life safety systems across the university’s estate. We were awarded the contract in 2020 following a competitive tender process and manage over 60 different systems on the main campus alone, designed and installed by different manufacturers including Gent, Advanced and Drax. To deliver the high level of skill and experience needed, we have two dedicated senior engineers and an apprentice engineer on site, supported by our on-call engineering team available 24/7, 365 days a year, alongside our Quality Manager and account management colleagues, based within five miles of the site. We have maintained full compliance with all the key performance indicators (KPIs) agreed with the university and have received exemplary feedback for our high level of customer service.
