Posted: 20.10.2025

At CDS, we’re proud to celebrate the achievements of our team members who go above and beyond in their roles. This month, we’re delighted to recognise Lee Smart, our Service Manager (North), who has become the first person in the entire Obsequio Group to be awarded three out of four ‘Pat on the Back’ (POTB) awards.

The Pat on the Back initiative is an internal recognition programme across the Obsequio Group that celebrates individuals who demonstrate the group’s core values: Trusted, Disciplined, Enterprising, and Collaborative. Nominations are made by colleagues and managers who witness these values in action, and Lee’s consistent dedication and leadership have clearly stood out.

Trusted

As a new manager, Lee quickly demonstrated the qualities that make him a trusted leader. Despite facing challenges along the way, Lee continued to lead with professionalism, empathy, and strength. His willingness to take on responsibility and handle difficult situations with composure has earned him great respect among his peers and management alike.

Collaborative

Lee’s collaborative spirit was highlighted through his support of our sister company APS’ service engineers training. By arranging for them to be added to the Honeywell Gent account, Lee enabled the engineers to gain Gent IDs and certification, empowering them to work more effectively and confidently. His proactive and professional approach fostered both teamwork and shared success – a perfect example of collaboration in action.

Disciplined

Lee’s commitment and attention to detail were instrumental in supporting CDS through its recent BAFE audit. His dedication to preparing documentation and ensuring all site work met the required standards showcased true discipline. By going the extra mile, Lee not only helped the business meet certification requirements but also set an example of excellence for the entire team.

A True Reflection of CDS Values

Lee’s achievements reflect the professionalism, teamwork, and high standards that define CDS and the wider Obsequio Group. His success across three different POTB categories – Trusted, Collaborative, and Disciplined – showcases the depth of his contribution and the positive influence he brings to those around him.

We’re incredibly proud to have Lee as part of the CDS leadership team and thank him for the dedication, support, and example he continues to set.

Congratulations, Lee, on this outstanding achievement!
