CDS is again sponsoring an award at the annual national Women in Fire Safety awards, which take place in London in the autumn.
The company has opted for Influencer of the Year this time – one of 12 categories, which also include Lifetime Achievement, Diversity Champion and Recruiter of the Year.
CDS sponsored the educational award in 2022, which was won by the driving force behind a campaign pushing for legal changes to protect leaseholders from being financially responsible for structural shortcomings on their properties.
The annual awards are aimed at celebrating the achievements and contributions of all women within the fire safety community
CDS national sales manager Sophie Kelly, the driving force behind CDS’ support of the awards, said: “The organisation’s co-founders Kate Blake and Chloe Vickery are inspirational. They want to address the historical gender imbalance and champion for a more progressive industry as well as encouraging the next generation of women to see fire safety as an astounding career opportunity.”
Kate Blake added: “CDS has been an incredible supporter of WIFS from day one. Sophie Kelly attended the first awards and our relationship with CDS has grown from there. She had such passion for our purpose from day one and we really are grateful for that. CDS is highly motivated to support women in the fire safety industry and to highlight opportunities for women, We are over the moon to see them supporting us again.”
Nominations opened at this week’s Fire Safety Event at Birmingham’s NEC, with awards organisers on the hunt for women who have gone above and beyond within their area of genius.
“Think outside the box when deciding on the category,” said Kate. “There are 12 awards up for grabs so don’t always go for the most obvious ones.”
The 2023 Awards will be taking place on September 28, at the same venue as the 2022 event – London’s Tower Hotel.
