Two new business development managers will be helping drive sales for compliance businesses CDS, Genex and Drax 360 as the company expands across the country, offering a wider range of services across multiple industries.

Stacey McAlwane, who carried out a similar role with CDS chairman and MD Simon Cashmore and Simon Abley at multi-million-pound outdoor services business TCL, is focusing on project sales for electrical contractors, consultants and fit-out businesses across the South West and the West Midlands.

She is working closely with sales manager Grant Wheeler, with the aim of growing the fire detection and life safety arm of the business in the region, as well as making customers aware of other compliance services available via the Drax 360 and Genex elements of the wider company.

A keen surfer, Stacey said: “What I love most about joining CDS is working for both Simons again! I am also enjoying the fresh challenge of building my customer base and assisting in the growth of another exciting company.”

National business development manager Olivia Verner, whose background is in fire safety, is also embracing water, energy and electrical compliance in her new role, working across all divisions of the CDS group – CDS, Genex and Drax 360.

Her focus is the social housing sector, where she is making sure all aspects of compliance are met across housing associations, care homes, extra care units and high-rise flats.

Olivia, who plays rugby at county level when not advising on compliance issues, said: “I really enjoy working in a team-orientated environment, and am looking forward to starting some new projects and working nationwide. CDS have already been so welcoming. I’m excited to work with everyone.”

The appointments coincide with CDS’ relocation to a new, larger head office with plenty of space for its growing workforce.

CDS MD Simon Abley said: “We’re delighted to welcome Stacey and Olivia on board. Simon Cashmore and I always loved working with Stacey when we were together at TCL. So we’re thrilled that she agreed to join us and do what she carried out so brilliantly there, with our newer venture. Olivia has an excellent track record in the fire safety industry and an encyclopaedic knowledge of compliance issues. Both are energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and we’re very pleased that they are helping us grow the business further.”
