Established in 1984, BAFE is the independent organisation dedicated to improving standards in fire protection. BAFE is the not for profit, registration body for Companies throughout the UK that achieve third party certification for their fire protection services. Organisations that are registered to BAFE schemes demonstrate a commitment to service excellence.

The BAFE scheme SP203 BAFE’s scheme objective is to provide a means by which fire protection system users and regulatory authorities can be confident that the companies providing fire alarm systems, have processes in place to effectively undertake such activities within their defined scope of work. The modular scheme was written and developed by stakeholders from all quarters of the industry, chaired by an international fire risk professional and was officially launched in July 2002

Complete Detection Systems Ltd have been registered with BAFE since August 2009 and have approval for all our modules; design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.  We can additionally act as a system verifier under the BAFE scheme rules.

ISO 9001 is the principal internationally recognized standard for Quality Management System. The term quality refers to all those features of a product or service which are required by the customer. The Fire Industry Association, of which Complete Detection Systems Ltd is a full member, is a not-for-profit trade association with the aim of promoting the professional status of the UK fire industry.

In order to become a full member of the association every business must adhere to a strict criteria which includes third party accreditation.

Customers who employ one of the association members will know that they will provide the required level of performance in compliance with the relevant standards with the reassurance that they have taken all reasonable steps required to fulfill their responsibilities under the Fire Safety Order.

Safecontractor is a third party Health and Safety accreditation scheme for contractors. Regular monitoring of contractors allows Safecontractor to maintain a database of the Health and Safety arrangements of all members. As an approved contractor under this scheme Complete Detection Systems Ltd are able to satisfy the requirements set by some 200 of the UK’s leading construction organisations.

CHAS LogoCHAS – Contractors Health & Safety Scheme

In 1997 a group of health and safety and procurement professionals from across Great Britain worked with the Association of London Government (ALG) to develop CHAS. In 2001 CHAS became a web-based system.

CHAS started with two main aims.

  • To improve health and safety standards across Great Britain.
  • To reduce duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers.

Currently CHAS has more than 500 public and private sector buyer organisations, such as councils, housing associations, NHS trusts, including a growing number of large private companies who employ sub-contractors.

In 2013 CHAS become a private limited company owned by the London Borough of Merton.

Construction line logoConstruction Line

Construction Line are an independent body that monitors suppliers in order to maintain an up-to-date database of company details covering financial, health and safety, equality, quality, professional standing and environmental information.

Suppliers registered with Constructionline are able to demonstrate to customers that they are fit to supply and are pre-qualified to government standards, using PAS91.

PAS 91 was developed with suppliers in mind in order to help reduce the need for suppliers to complete a variety of different pre-qualification questionnaires for different, and in some cases, the same clients.
